The fourth project team workshop within the project “safEarth”
In the period from 2nd to 6th July 2018, the fourth project workshop was held in Žepče, within the project “Transnational advanced management of land use risk through landslide susceptibility maps design” – “safEarth”. The host was the Development Agency Žepče, and the workshop was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering of the University in Tuzla, Institute for Geological Research from Podgorica and the Croatian Geological Institute of Zagreb. The implementation of the project started in June 2017, and the project is being implemented under the INTERREG IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro program 2014 – 2020.
The workshop was held at the California Restaurant in Žepče, and the main goal of the workshop was to summarize the implemented activities and results achieved, and to plan the realization of activities for the next period.
Dr.sc. Vlatko Gulam as a Project manager, on behalf of the Lead Partner (LP), the Croatian Geological Institute (HGI), presented all the activities undertaken so far in the third period, which started on 01.03.2018. and ends on 31.08.2018. with emphasis on the activities carried out and the problems encountered by the project partners. Particular attention was given to LIDAR recording that includes their project area and the establishment of a landscaping cadaster database. Project manager Dragan Radojević, on behalf of the Institute for Geological Research in Podgorica, presented the erosion maps for the Montenegrin project area and the legislation on spatial plans for Montenegro.
Prof.doc.dr. Elvir Babajić presented the maps of landslide threats on behalf of the RGGF. Dr.sc. Nedreta Kikanović has presented legally legible spatial plans for Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Dr.sc. Kenan Mandžić presented a stakeholder questionnaire. On behalf of the Development Agency Žepče Investment Coordinator Željka Marković presented the planned works at the site of small infrastructure works at the Željezno Polje site.
On the fourth day, a field excursion was organized where the areas of work were visited, as well as visits to the largest landslides in the Željezno Polje in Mjestova Ravan and Biljevina. In addition, project partners visited quarry Ograjina, Kamenica canyon within the nature park Tajan and Stone balls in Zavidovići.
Dr.sc. Vlatko Gulam as a project manager, on behalf of the Lead partner (LP), thanked in front of his project team for a well prepared and well implemented workshop, as well as on the good cooperation of project partners and on all fulfilled obligations. He also presented the common goals and obligations to be fulfilled until the next workshop, to be held in Montenegro, organized by the partners from the Institute for Geological Research from Podgorica at the end of 2018.
The project “safEarth” – “Transnational advanced management of land use risk through landslide susceptibility maps design”, is implemented by RAŽ in the area of Žepče municipality. The project is implemented under the INTERREG IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro program 2014. – 2020. The duration of the project is 30 months and the total budget is 974.695,50 EUR, of which the EU finances 85%, 15% co-finances partners. The main objective of the project is to work together with partners to address the issue of landslide in the region.
